The Riga International Bible Institute is a non-denominational school with a variety of associated ministries which exists to educate church leadership and laymen Biblically, to produce godly servant leaders, develop a world-wide missionary vision, and to facilitate evangelism and Christian ministry through practical application of God’s Word and training in ministry skills.

OUR PHILOSOPHY:
RIBI is a means of spiritual growth for those who are a part of our ministry. (Eph. 4:11-15; Heb. 10:23-25). As a result we have the following aims.

• We aim to be Biblical, practical, and to build godly character. (1Peter 1:15-16)
• We want to help our students think for themselves while remaining dependent on and dedicated to the teachings of Scripture and the illumination of the Holy Spirit as their source of truth. (Acts 17:11)
• We want our students to have practical ministry skills that can be applied in many different ministry situations. They should be capable leaders as well as willing followers in the ministry where God has placed them. They should be able to equip others for ministry with the goal of building up the body of Christ. (Eph. 4: 11-13)
• We want out students to know the truths of Scripture and to be obedient to them in their lives and ministry. Knowledge is not enough. There must be godly obedience and maturity. (Eph. 4:13; Matt. 28:19-20)

OUR COMMITMENT:
• To the Bible – to submit to it as our sole authority. (Matt. 4:4; 2Tim.3:16; 2Peter1:21; Josh 1:8)
• To the local church – to support it as God’s primary agent for ministry in the world. (Matt. 16:16-18; Acts 2:42-47; ICor.12:12ff.)
• To the student – to provide them with Biblical and practical skills for ministry while seeking to develop godly character. (1Peter 1:15-16; 1John 2:4-6)
• The Great Commission – to promote obedience to Jesus’ command. (Matt. 28:19-20)

OUR VISION:
We want to see the Lord transform our students into godly people who are concerned with meeting the spiritual needs of others throughout Latvia and the world and who have the necessary training to do so.

OUR UNIQUE STRATEGY:
While we value theoretical studies and their importance to forming our thinking, we see the need to go beyond thinking to actually applying what we learn. This practical emphasis is developed through the use of teachers experienced in ministry, a curriculum that seeks to develop ministry skills, participation in periodic seminars that seek to apply classroom lessons to life and ministry, an emphasis on practical application in student assignments, and the required participation of students in ministry and internships. This approach to education gives us a unique strategy as an educational institution.
